5. You were a set hairdresser and makeup artist before starting Hello To Beauty. What drove you to
start HTB?

I saw how the industry was changing and knew that I have a voice.  I was already always educating my clients and friends, so I thought, why not make it a thing.  To say it’s been a challenge is an understatement, but I’m very proud of the work I produce and the knowledge I get to share with women.  Nothing is better than getting emails or comments from readers across the world telling me how I’ve helped or inspired them.

6. What are your favorite parts about makeup and hair? In what ways does beauty act as a form of
catharsis or self-expression for you?

6. What are your favorite parts about makeup and hair? In what ways does beauty act as a form of
catharsis or self-expression for you?

I like how it is a way to express yourself based on mood, emotions, phases, or art.  It’s funny how we can be SO into a look for a while, and then suddenly we completely change it, making us feel different.  It’s fun to be able to be experimental and also to express ourselves through our style and aesthetic.  Some days I cannot see myself with any makeup on, and sometimes more is more.  All based on mood.

7. What is one piece of beauty advice you’d give to everyone you meet?

Invest in great skincare, drink a lot of water, exercise, and get a lot of sleep.  Also, find your day to day look and perfect it, so that you can get yourself looking fresh in five minutes or less.

8. What are your go-to, everyday hair and makeup styling routine? Do you have any product
essentials?

I usually air dry my hair, add some waves in with the curling iron, and spray a little texture spray at the roots.  I can usually get 2-3 days out of my hair.

Makeup is usually a light foundation, under eye concealer, highlighter, contour, and blush, brow gel, one eyeshadow, and mascara.  OH and lips.  I always have to have some color on my lips.  Lately, I’ve been into tinted lip balms or chapsticks.

9. Where do you see yourself in five years from now?

Doing the same but bigger and better, doing more clients that I have on my goals list, and producing my niche makeup line.
