As a child, I remember my mother screaming in the mornings "Eat your eggs" if you want healthy hair and skin. Mama was right; it turns out Eggs, Sweet Potatoes, Walnuts, and lentils just to mention a few are some of the best foods one can eat for a shiny, healthy and vigorous head of hair.

Eggs - Loaded with four essential minerals, Zinc, Selenium, Sulfur and Iron. Iron is of particular importance because it helps cells carry oxygen to the hair follicles, and too little Iron can cause Anemia and Hair loss particularly in women. So have some Eggs for breakfast.

One of my favorites root vegetables of all time, Sweet Potatoes, you need to eat more of this super great potato, is a great source of Beta-Carotene which your body turns into Vitamin A, your cells need this vitamin to stay alive, it also helps your body produce more oils that your scalp needs.

Walnuts are one of the only nuts that add a significant amount of Fatty acids to your diet. It is also rich in Biotin, Vitamin E which can help protect your cells from DNA damage. Walnuts also have Copper, a mineral that keeps your natural hair color rich and vibrant

Lentils, these tiny little legumes are full of Protein, Iron, Zinc and Biotin, essential ingredients for promoting hair growth.

The foods we eat are so important for the health of our hair and body, so pay close attention to what and how you eat. As always, do your research, make sure you are not allergic to any of the items listed above before consuming them 😃
